Kazi Hayat was born on February 15, 1947, in Gopalganj, Bangladesh. He grew up in his local district. Hayat was so much passionate about movie arena from early childhood. He moved to Dhaka just after his M.Com final exam in pursuing build up a career as a film director, Kazi didn’t wait for the result. Hayat got a chance to work as an assistant director with some legend director that was time. Actually, he learned basic tricks from these directors.

Kazi Hayat began the journey as an assistant director in 1974. In 1976, he worked in the movie ‘Simana Periye’ with famous director Alamgir Kabir. Hayat made his mainstream directorial debut with the movie ‘The Father’ in 1989 where Bulbul Ahmed and Shuchorita acted. The famous director already has made more than fifty movies including several blockbuster movies.
In 1980, he worked in the movie ‘Didar Ali’. Hayat showed off his excellent directorial technique in the movie ‘Trash’ and ‘Chadabaz’. In 1994, he made a blockbuster movie ‘Shipahi’. In 1997, Kazi made a commercial success movie ‘Loot Toraz’. Following the year, he made another commercial hit movie ‘Tezi’ whereManna and Dipjol acted. His directed movie ‘Ammajan’ is a blockbuster movie in the Dhallywood film industry where actor Manna showed off a terrific performance.
In 2002, Kazi Hayat made a box office hit movie ‘Itihash’ where his son Kazi Maruf acted. Following the year, he made another successful movie ‘Minister’. In 2006, Hayat made a historical movie ‘Kabuliwala’ based on the story of Rabindranath Tagore. In 2013, he made social awareness movie ‘Eve Teasing’.
